Unable to Open the PJM File
Symptoms
When pushing AP Records from Autodesk Build to Sage 300 CRE, you get the error message: Unable to open the pjm file. Opening this file requires the PJ application to be licensed.
How to fix
Step 1: Run the Agave Connector in foreground mode to surface the real error
Step 2: Reproduce and read the error
- Push the failing record. The error surfaces: "Unable to open the PJM file. Opening this file requires the PJ application to be licensed."
- Confirm with the customer that they do not use or license the PJ (Project Management) module. If so, the license check needs to be bypassed
Step 3: Create the bypass file
- On the Sage server, open Notepad and Save As a completely empty file named exactly
agave.pjm.unlicensed, with no contents and no file extension
Windows will silently append .txt. In File Explorer, go to View and check "File name extensions," then rename the file to strip the trailing .txt
Step 4: Place the file in the correct location (the Sage data folder, not Program Files)
- Find the real data path one of two ways:
- Sage 300 desktop: Options > Open Company shows where the company file lives (may display as a network mount like
\\SERVERNAME\Timberline Office\..., which means it's on a local drive on the server itself). - regedit (the reliable way): navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Timberline\Generaland read the Program Data / shared directory value.
- Sage 300 desktop: Options > Open Company shows where the company file lives (may display as a network mount like
- Move the file into the company data folder there
Step 5:
- Retry the push from Agave.
- Re-enable the Task Scheduler task when done so the connector returns to running in the background
