Labor Items and Classifications
Context
Acumatica uses Labor Items to specify types of work for labor tracking and costing. These Labor Items are entered on timecards, and are used in the Labor Rates form (along with project, prevailing wage, and employee information) to make the proper wage determination in the payroll workflow.
Procore has a similar concept, Classifications, used to identify trade/rank of an employee throughout the workforce modules.
By default, Agave maps Acumatica Labor Items to Procore Classifications to ensure that:
- The employee's default type of work is set on the timecard in Procore without requiring manual selection
- The classfication can be updated in Procore, and the proper Labor Item will be used in Acumatica (e.g. if an employee is doing a different type of work from usual)
Setup
For each Labor Item in Acumatica, create a corresponding Classification in Procore. The Labor Item's Inventory ID must match the "Class Code" in Procore for Agave to map them correctly.

Navigate to Company Admin > Classifications in Procore:

Create Classifications to match your Acumatica Labor Items:
Rate Calculations
Agave uses the rate calculation logic defined in the Labor Rates screen in Acumatica. This ensures that all employee, project, and prevailing wage information is taken into account properly.
In the example below for a prevailing wage project, Agave will supply the "CARPENTRY" Labor Item and specify the project and employee on the Time Entry. For this prevailing wage project (BVA25036), the correct rate (110) is chosen:
Time/Earning Types
By default, Agave supports the following Pay Types between Procore and Acumatica:
- Regular
- Overtime
- Double Time
- PTO
- Sick
- Holiday
Custom Time/Earning Types
Agave can also often support custom time/earning types that are added to the lists in both systems. Work with your Agave account rep to enable this.
Identifiying Certified Projects
For customers syncing Projects from Procore into Acumatica, you can designate a custom field in Procore to represent whether the project is Certified.
When this is selected, the "Certified Job" checkbox in Acumatica will be selected for the project:
Contact your Agave account rep to set up this custom field mapping.
